Irina and Her Three Kids

Irina and Her Three Kids

We got to sit and chat with Irina, the founder and designer of Lola & The Boys for International Women's Day. After just wrapping up the FW18 market season with her inaugural presence at petitePARADE at Children's Club - we're fresh off the runway with some great advice from the super mom and designer.

pP: Hi Irina! It's so great to have recently worked with you to present your FW18 collection at petitePARADE. What inspired you to start the line, Lola & The Boys?

I: My daughter Lola is my inspiration. She is my mini fashion muse. Her fun personal style is definitely something I like to incorporate when thinking of ideas. Being a fashion lover and having my kids helped me intertwine the two. I loved making clothing for her as a baby and it just evolved into something bigger.

pP: What does it mean to you, to be an entrepreneur in today's world?

I: It is showing my daughter that women can do anything they put their mind to it. If you dream big and work hard you can aspire to meet your goals. I don’t think about being a female business owner; I just think about going out there, working hard and being the best you can. There should be no difference between a man or women in business.

pP: Who is your inspiration and why?

I: My kids are my inspiration - I want to teach them to work hard, for their dreams and they can accomplish anything. It’s not luck, it's passion and hard work.

pP: What message or advice do you instill in your daughter, Lola ?

I: Chase after your dreams! Be the best at what you do. Nothing is easy... some days you feel like you might not get through it; but keep pushing yourself to be the best at everything, and everything else will follow.

pP:  Do you have a role model or style icon? Are they the same person or two different people and why?

I: I don’t really have a style icon. There are so many different styles and looks I love so I just really appreciate fashion forward style. Women who dress for themselves and just go with what feels good for them.

pP: What's one thing every girl should know?

I: Dream big, work hard, nothing is easy but anything is possible!
